LV Mesh Heads

Frequently Asked Questions

What are LV Mesh Heads?
A low-volume acoustic solution that replaces your current drum heads. LV Mesh Heads are great way to reduce the volume of your drums without sacrificing the feel and tone of your acoustic drums.

Are LV Mesh Heads sold individually?
Yes.

What sizes of LV Mesh Heads are available?
Sizes: 10”, 12”, 13”, 14”, 16”, 20”, and 22”

Is there a combo pack?
Yes, the combo pack includes 10″, 12″,14″, 16″, and 22″ heads.

Do LV Mesh Heads lower the volume enough to use in an apartment setting?
Yes!

How are LV Mesh Heads different from comparable low-volume heads?
LV Mesh Heads feature a specially-designed sound patch at the center of the head, which enhances the realism of the response and provides a more audible attack. Unlike similar mesh heads, LVs offer QUIET practice, not SILENT practice. And, like the Black Hole Practice System, their heavy-duty mesh material offers unparalleled durability.

Where can I use LV Mesh Heads?
The possibilities are endless but some quick ideas are in an apartment, dorm room, studio, during drum lessons, church band, and any other place you would want lower volume play.

What is the difference between LV Mesh Heads and the Black Hole Practice System?
There are two differences – installation and price. LV mesh heads require a longer installation process but offer a more budget-friendly low-volume solution.

Can I trigger my LV Mesh Heads?
Yes! Most drum triggers work very well with LV Mesh Heads. Note that our bh Triggers work exclusively with Black Holes and do not pair with Black Holes.

Do LV Mesh Heads cause damage to the bearing edges?
During our testing, there was no visible damage to the bearing edges. While we did not experience any damage, there are circumstances that may wear a bearing edge.

Tensioning a mesh head very tightly on softer hardwood drums made from maple, birch, poplar, beech or luan mahogany could potentially lead to some wear. While this is not a common occurrence, be cautious not to over-tighten.
